This is one of the most important topics I have with younger artists, and anyone going into fine or performing arts. I like the first A, B, C choices, C being the most important of all the options. The mentors who've changed my life for the better, they've all insisted my work was worth far more than I charged. They helped me grow, see the value of my work, and instilled the confidence I needed to make a living, and in turn, take care of my family.
These mentors would never ask for a discount, because they understand how it cheapens everything (and everyone involved). The ability to recognize the mentor trait in people, and distinguish it from acquaintances seeking discounts will serve you well in life. Just say no to the latter. Learning to say no will free up the valuable resources needed to invest in your own growth.
