I just got back from an amazing trip to Europe visiting my wife’s family and friends. It was a whirlwind adventure spanning 5 cities in 3 countries in just 12 days. It felt like I was on tour, but instead of playing music in every city, I just ravenously ate and drank my way through those stunning ancient landscapes like I’d just been released from a lengthy prison sentence.
Along with wanting to taste everything within arms reach when I’m in a new place, I also have an unstoppable urge to scour the land for guitars. As if somehow, because I’m somewhere new and different, this is where I might find the “holy grail”, that unimaginable deal or an instrument so magical that it shakes me the very core of my being and changes everything forever…
Or, maybe I’m just addicted to shopping for guitars. So, instead of looking up interesting historical landmarks in each city, I spent time looking up what local music stores might be within scouting distance of our route.
